PREPARATION FOR H.ART 2016

For the last few months I've been busy on a collection of work ready for H.Art 2016. It's a special one this year as I won a prize!
Artists were invited to submit to The Old Mayor's Parlour Open competition, and I am very pleased to have been awarded 2nd prize. Along with a lovely cheque, I also get to exhibit my work with the two other prizewinners, Verity Howard and Marek Zylinski. Verity creates incredible ceramics and Marek does wonderful photography. We've been busy planning our show in the lovely OMP space, and are very much looking forward to seeing our work together.

As many of you know, my work is often influenced by far away travels, Iceland, Norway and Namibia to name a few, but for the OMP Open Prize, it seemed perfect to focus on an area closer to home. I've been inspired by the surroundings near my studio, and the wider Herefordshire landscape. The resulting work is a collection of paintings, paper pots and handpainted textiles which I hope, capture the atmosphere and beauty of the area.
